Firmware Engineer

Location: Brighton, Falmer office

Hours: 40 hours per week

Rate: Market rate, good package. Dependant on experience.

We are looking for a Firmware Engineer to join our team based from our offices in Falmer, Brighton. Our ideal candidate will be degree educated and be comfortable delivering structured, documented and tested code to a regular sprint rhythm.

Working as a part of our development team comprising core software engineers, 3D developers, machine learning specialists, electronics & firmware engineers, the role will focus on the development of the embedded code for our wearable products for both Virtual Reality and ITRW. This role will involve all areas of product development from ideation to prototyping and manufacture. Your responsibilities will include firmware design and development for current and future Emteq hardware based on ARM M4 and BLE v5, and building test firmware for prototypes and early inhouse production devices.

Must have:

  • Undergraduate degree or higher

  • Embedded C experience with ARM M4 and Bluetooth Low Energy

  • Highly skilled in C/C++

  • Experience of data storage in Embedded systems (i.e. SD card)

  • Hands on experience of time critical code

  • Experience of Bluetooth connection to mobiles devices

Great to have:

  • Embedded IDE such as Segger Embedded Studio, MS Visual Studio

  • Knowledge of Electronic design and hardware

  • Experience with Wifi, RTOS, Assembly, DSP, Optimisation
